A Christian who shows the character trait of integrity has a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7), a pure mind, and is honest, sincere and upright; living in singleness of heart for the Lord. Integrity includes the possession of other character traits, and may be the most important character trait to develop in consideration of your reputation. Prov. 22:1 Ec. 7:1
Submissive obedience to all of the desires of the Lord for your life will bring His strength into your life- the strength that you need to hold to your integrity and to keep it until the day of your death. Job 27:1-6 1 Kings 9:4 gives to you, as it did to Solomon, the instruction to live your life before God “in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee…”
Does your life show integrity?
- I have a reputation of honesty and truthfulness.
- My actions match my words. I live the Biblical beliefs that I claim to have.
- I live my life now in a way that will allow my parents or future employers to be able to entrust me with greater responsibilities.
- With my whole heart I seek to serve the Lord in all that He wants me to do.
- I work hard to learn at school and to seek the wisdom of God’s Word so that I will have a “sound mind.”
- I work to remember and then to do all of those things that I know the Lord wants me to do.
- I have a reputation of moral purity in my speech and behavior.
- I am sincere in my speech and attitudes ,I do not try to cover up and present to others a “false front.”
- I desire to be the best Christian that I can be; one who is unstained by the sins of the world, so that I can be greatly used by the Lord in the future.
